Every year, First Credit Union proudly awards scholarships to local high school students who are planning to further their education. The total amount of scholarships awarded is based upon a percentage of the total assets of the Credit Union, so the more growth the organization has, the higher the scholarships will be.
Students interested in applying for a Credit Union Scholarship should do so through the high school application process that is currently in place. Please see your school for more details.
To be eligible for an award, applicants must:
• Be a registered grade 12 student of the School District 47.
• Be planning to attend post secondary on a full time basis within the following year.
• Be a member in good standing of the Powell River Credit Union.
Consideration will be given to students who have been members or whose families have been members for a significant length of time, academic aspirations, and community involvement.
